The Pacific Skilled Employment Programme

The PSEP aims to lift the participation of Pacific peoples’ in the economic and employment sector. Pacific people in New Zealand enjoy a high rate of employment, however, many are working in unskilled or low skilled occupations.

Better jobs require better skills. The benefits of upskilling include a wider range of economic and employment options, leading to a better quality of life.


The PSEP seeks to:

i)    mobilise Pacific peoples and profile the working population;

ii)    partner with training and employer bodies to adapt work skills to market demand;

iii)    modify training courses to suit Pacific needs; and

iv)    provide mentoring support and career counselling.
